Bio:
Hi, my name is Kelly. I guess I don't have a huge presence in the Flame right now, but I do try to be involved. I'm on the editing team; a lot of times, I find that editing is a lot more fun for me than writing.
I'm a second year at Georgia Tech (GO JACKETS!). I love it here, though I always say that you can spot freshmen by the look of hope that still lives on their faces. I'm a Mechanical Engineering major, and will hopefully be graduating in Spring '12 with a BS. I hope to be back at Tech for a Masters and then get a PhD eventually so that I can become a professor.
I started writing a little over a year ago. I had always lurked in communities until the summer after my senior year of high school. I was really bored, and finally got a livejournal and joined a few LJ communities. I think I've found my place here. :)
The Chosen Piece:
I find that writing comes in bursts for me -- sometimes I write stories upon stories feverishly and other times I struggle to get out a couple sentences. This comes from one of those moments of feverish writing: this last summer. It is one of the first pieces I competed at the Flame with. It's called Once Upon a Time, and was written for the June contest which had the prompt "Ranch."
The story is a pseudo fairy tale about a prince who, in a way, finds his classic adventure.
