Apocalypse_Me

For our first Showcase of the month, I would like to introduce you all to Apocalypse_Me, who joined our community July 2009! Go forth, sweet Flamers, read, enjoy, and feel free to comment!

Bio:
"I'm apocalypse_me...I'm a Liberal Arts major going in to Art Education. I'm from NJ, near NYC, and I spend a lot of time in NYC because I take classes at School of Visual Arts. Mostly, I'm an artist, not a writer. I read, draw, and write comics...well, sort of write. I love telling stories. I don't consider myself to be much of a writer, but I love telling stories. I turned to comics instead of fine arts or illustration –because- of the storytelling/narrative aspect of it. I'm pretty good at storytelling. It's the writing part that always kills me. Telling a story and writing a story are two separate things. This is part of why I starting doing BF.

"One of my best friends, Cris (saturnangel587 on LJ, hint hint, feature her!) has been doing Brigits Flame for a while. She's also my co-conspirator, and I've written a lot of snippets, and drawn and developed characters with her as well. She's always encouraged me to write, and I've written a lot of short things just between the two of us, but nothing I ever felt confidant enough about to share with the world. So I figured I would give BF a try. One of my main problems with comics is not being able to come up with ideas. Even if I did a terrible job at writing, I could at least try to salvage the story lines or characters for comics. So far, I think I've surprised myself."
