Today, my darling flamers, I would like to introduce you to Andmydog!

Bio:
I'm andmydog, and I go by 'Dog, usually. As far as personal stats go, I've been writing stories since as long as I can remember, I hold a degree in English from an agricultural university, and everything I do (be it costume design, website content generation, or just tinkering in the garage) I consider to be art.

And man, that sounds so good on paper, doesn't it? But that view of everything as art is probably why I'm such a perfectionist. I may have been writing stories since I was just a kid, but I'm one of those writers who agonizes over every. single. solitary. word. I'll come up with these hugely complex story ideas, but they're part text, part visual, part experiential, and how do you put something like that down on paper?

When I joined Livejournal, right at the end of college, I hadn't written anything for years. But I wanted to. I needed to, and so I found myself gravitating toward fandom communities. Writing somebody else's characters in somebody else's world, where the relationships are established and the history already recorded, is a great way for control freak people like me to get writing again (because seriously, when you have a 500 world challenge and you can't start it because you don't know everything about the life of the narrator? That sucks. That sucks a lot).

I've been writing fanfic for about five years now, and while I love working in established worlds, I figured that it was time to start working on my own. And then a friend (who never joined, like she said she would; shame on you, Noa) pointed me toward , and I said oh, what the hell.

It's still a struggle every week to funnel my ideas down and drop then on the page, but every week it gets a little easier. This comm, it is an awesome comm, and I'm totally stoked to be a part of it.

The Chosen Piece: "Trash"
(Note from Kathy: Rated R-- This piece mentions sex and murder. It is somewhat deliciously disturbing! Enjoy!)
